Goodwood 1944 covers the British Offensive against the German Defenses in the Caen sector. If Field Marshall Montgomery achieves his objectives, the Allies win the Battle of Normandy.
Goodwood 1944 is a game for two players, one player assumes the role of the commander of the German forces, and the other player assumes the role of the commander of the Commonwealth forces. The game map represents the areas over which the battle was actually fought. Each hex is 1 km across. It uses playing pieces that represent the actual military units that participated in the campaign. The German units represent companies and battalions. The British units are mostly battalions. Each turn represent 1 hour and half of real time.
